Climate Action Festival

In New Zealand, we send about 180,000 tonnes of clothing to landfill every year – let’s change that!

During September, come in and check out the awesome upcycled outfits on display outside Decjuba and Kathmandu. The four outfits on display took first and second place in the High School and Open categories at Envirohub’s 48-hour Second-hand Fashion Competition, where contestants had to reimagine and upcycle clothing that was destined for landfill and turn them into the exciting ready-to-wear outfits you see today.

See the designs in person, find inspiration for your own outfits, and learn more about the different textile recycling programmes available in store at Tauranga Crossing.

Let your fashion make a difference with in-store recycling at Tauranga Crossing.

H&M accept all unwanted clothes or textiles, by any brand and in any condition, and offer a thank you voucher to use toward your next purchase in return for your deposited clothes.

Kathmandu accept clothing items, hats, socks, and shoes through their partnership with ImpacTex who sort to the items to be reused or recycled.

Decjuba accept denim items which are then reused, recycled, or repurposed through their partnership with Upparel.

Envirohub are hosting their Climate Action Festival from the 14th to the 20th of September with a range of local events to educate and celebrate the sustainable practices that play a vital role in climate action.
