A Chat with The Cosmetic Clinic

We spoke with Charlotte Mead, the owner of The Cosmetic Clinic, to learn more about her and her team!

What first inspired you to open The Cosmetic Clinic?

I managed TCC Bayfair for a while before I opened TCC Tauranga Crossing and my love for people intensified. I love meeting new people and even more than that, I love helping them feel amazing about themselves. Aside from the passion I have for great skin and great skincare, and the love for sharing my knowledge, I also loved being the person that made clients feel comfortable and confident enough to even step foot in a clinic like ours. They would leave feeling so happy they had taken that leap to come and see us. That’s why I wanted to open a clinic and create a team and environment that could continue to do that for people and clients.

What does your daily work routine look like?

I am trying to get some balance back in my life and back on the fitness buzz currently, so that is something that contributes to most mornings! Getting my two toddlers ready for their day and making my way into work. I am very present in the clinic; you will find me there with the team most days ensuring the days run smoothly and supporting the girls. There are lots of behind-the-scenes things that go into running a business. Lots of client interactions, lots of training – we never stop learning here!

I always wanted a team of diverse women for my team and I can say that I have 100% achieved that at Tauranga Crossing. We have diversity in age, culture, and background. Some have moved cities and countries to be here with me, for which I am so grateful! Some are just starting their beauty career; some are re-entering the beauty industry. We are a team with a fountain of knowledge with a strong background in the dermal/skin side of things as well as an amazing understanding of skincare and retraining the skin. They are all so passionate, love giving advice and building up client confidence in any way possible. We are also so lucky to have two very caring and experienced local injectable nurses as part of our team too. They all really are the bees’ knees! My sister Katie is my business partner and has many years experience in the beauty industry. She is a huge help, supporting myself and the clinic behind the scenes. I can’t wait to have her in the clinic on a more regular basis soon.

I honestly believe it is our training and with that, our staff and client care. We work with products that can be quite dangerous if they end up in the wrong hands but provide amazing results when in the right hands. This is what I mean when I say our training never stops! The team underwent very intense training before we opened; this has continued and will continue. We are firm believers that you never stop learning. The more we refresh our knowledge, the more beneficial it is for our clients when it comes to giving them advice and customized treatment plans. Ultimately, that is what I want us to be known for: amazing client care and unmatched quality advice.

I hope our clients have a warm welcoming experience with us. I hope they leave their appointments with us having gained their trust, feeling as though they are safe and in the best hands when they are here. I hope everyone learns something new when they visit us and leave our clinic feeling glad they came and better than they did when they arrived.
