A Well-Deserved Gift

Christmas is a precious time of year. What matters most importantly is family and community. In the spirit of this, we partnered with the Tauranga Community Foodbank for the 2024 Christmas season to help support those in need in our community. Tauranga Community Foodbank provides a fantastic service helping people to make ends meet and put food on the table, an act that brings families together to make a shared moment.

In November, we launched Trees for Charity which was an initiative which brought together our retailers to form teams and decorate a Christmas tree that would then be donated to a family in need. In total we had 20 trees lovingly curated that, with the help of the Foodbank and their network, we were able to donate to 20 families around the wider Tauranga area who otherwise may not have had a tree this Christmas. With each tree came a $500 PAK’nSAVE voucher for each recipient to help reduce the financial strain around putting food on the table at the tail end of the year.

As part of our partnership, we also hosted a food donation point in the shopping centre with all donations being collected for the Foodbank.

Following into December, from the 1st to the 24th we brought our premium gift wrapping stations out into the centre. Here you could get your Christmas presents wrapped for a gold coin donation with all proceeds going to the Tauranga Community Foodbank this year. We also introduced EFTPOS and PayWave for a cashless option which had been requested by customers.

Your generosity enabled us to raise a total of $6602.10 for the Foodbank from our gift wrapping stations.
