Santa’s Gift to You

Santa’s 2023 Christmas Decoration

Every year we invite local artists to design this year’s Christmas decoration that Santa gifts to children that visit him at Tauranga Crossing. It’s now the fifth year running so they are becoming quite the collector’s item! The lovely Davneet Singh created our 2023 design. She was quite nervous to enter her decoration as she is very young, but we’re so glad that she did!

This year, we choose a young budding artist to design our Christmas decoration. We believe that it is important to support emerging talent and provide them with opportunities to showcase their skills. So, once we had reached out to our local community, we chose a very talented 9-year-old who demonstrated a strong passion for art and a unique creative style.

The design for Santa’s gift to you is themed around elements of Kiwiana Christmas and features a prominent kiwi bird. Davneet wanted to incorporate a sense of New Zealand culture and tradition into their gift, while also celebrating the holiday season. We worked closely with her to bring her vision to life, and the result is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind design that we are proud to share with you. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Davneet and look forward to seeing your reaction when you are gifted yours when you visit Santa in-centre this year.
